The May primary is just around the corner, and candidates are lining up for start of what could be a very interesting election. The signs surrounding this, are pictures of the actual signs being posted around the boro. Edward Vogue is running on the Democratic ticket for Mayor, while Lou Posly is running on the Republican ticket, opposing the incumbent Mayor, George Legezdh. George was elected Mayor of Dupont as a Republican in the last election, when he lost the primary election vote as a democrat. William Elko is running for another term as tax collector, opposed by Jack Kuligowski, both on the Democratic ticket. The ruling faction of council will try to retain their leadership, with Ann Marie O'Malley, Bernard Babonis, and Edward Strucke, once again, making their bid to hold onto their seats for another term, and bringing in Daniel Wozniak, from Coolidge Street on their ticket. The Minority faction of council, headed up by Stanley Golembewski, Matthew Szumski, and Joseph Timiniski, will be hoping to unseat the majority party, by running Matt for re-election, Edward Kowalczyk, a former councilman, Brian Nesgoda, and Joseph Cigan. |
